Contact Lens on the Eye

Here is a picture using the biomicroscope camera in our office showing the edge of contact lens (look to the left of the blue iris) as it sits on the eye.

When we are evaluating a contact on the eye, we are looking at the lens movement, lens position and how it is affected by blinking and looking in different directions.  We determine if the eye is showing irritation from the use of the contact.  We also inspect the contact lens to make sure there are no defects, tears or rippage as well as making sure the contact is not accummulating cosmetic, protein or other debris/deposits.
