I had a colorblind patient and their parent in recently and we were joking about this very topic during the exam, so I thought I would share:
I try to make a point and inform all of my colorblind patients that there are some occupations that may need to be avoided like that of a pilot, police officer, fire fighter, electrician, etc. After stating this, the father of the child that I mentioned above then added, "....and bomb defuser". I had to laugh because it caught me off guard and he was correct, I will have to add that one to my list.
